Owned and operated by Mr. Lugo’s family for over 25 years, the beloved establishment is known for its Southern comfort fare, which combines brunch cuisine with a rustic charm, making it a staple in the Naples region. Voted as a neighborhood favorite in 2019, 2020 and 2021, the restaurant was also named among the Best of 2023 in Naples and as the winner of a local contest in Marco Island the same year. Mr. Lugo began his career washing dishes at his restaurant — previously named the Lazy Rooster. He was otherwise inspired to enter the food service industry due to the influence of his parents, who instilled in him an appreciation for their employees and a passion for excellent customer service. In his leadership capacity, he remains dedicated to keeping a wellbalanced and maintained checkbook, ensuring that his vendors and staff are paid on time and the Country House Restaurant continues to prosper. Driven by his motto of, “Whatever you do, do with love, and if it’s not with love, don’t do it at all,” Mr. Lugo credits much of his success to his people skills, as well as the effective relationships he has forged. To wit, maintaining such fruitful partnerships has proven essential to his lasting prosperity, and he has become a master in teamwork. In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Lugo is proud to have recently closed a deal on opening a second restaurant location. In the coming years, he aspires to continue carrying the legacy of his parents; his mother and father hail from an older generation of restaurateurs.
