596 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HOSPITALITY AND LEISURE Kaylon Sweet has cultivated a fulfilling career in the restaurant industry. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, he is particularly well-versed in restaurant management and the culinary arts, known for his dedication to his craft and spirit as both an entrepreneur and philanthropist. As part of his most recent endeavors, Mr. Sweet was the head chef and owner of Osteria Poggio Italian Dining in Center Harbor, New Hampshire, from 2020 to 2024, where he provided his customers with high-quality Italian dishes with a focus on fresh ingredients and nostalgia. Mr. Sweet otherwise worked with his business since 2017 as a food production professional. Adjacent to his primary duties, he also manages a local school lunch program, preparing meals for students at his restaurant. In his other civic-minded efforts, he also regularly brings food to homeless shelters, in addition to working with other local academic institutions to provide free culinary courses and job training to budding students and professionals. Prior to his current endeavors, Mr. Sweet found success working as a chef for numerous other restaurants, both local and throughout the rest of the United States. To wit, he worked with the Wanakee summer camp in New Hampshire between 2012 and 2013 as the head cook, and he was a sear chef for The Beer House in SoHo, New York. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Sweet also pursued formal education in culinary arts, completing coursework at the Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence, Italy, and at Southern New Hampshire University. To commemorate his achievements, Mr. Sweet and his restaurant were named the Best of NH 2021 Above and Beyond All-Stars by New Hampshire Magazine. Furthermore, Osteria Poggio was named among the Top 10 Best New Restaurants by the magazine in 2020. Attributing his accomplishments to his dedicated work ethic and the support of those around him, Mr. Sweet is proud to have risen through the ranks of his industry to become a widely successful chef and business owner.
