635 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Vennis Terrell Manson has cultivated a career of excellence in the fields of public administration and security, leveraging more than 45 years of collective experience. Since 1996, he has operated as the administrative services division manager for the El Paso Police Department in El Paso, Texas. In his leadership role, he oversees various duties relating to legal records, department budget, and restrictions and protections to various pieces of confidential information. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Manson honorably served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1995, during which time he achieved the rank of major. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Manson also pursued a formal education. Initially attending the University of California Santa Barbara, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and linguistics with high honors. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Denver, where he ultimately achieved a Master of Science in systems management. Additionally, he is well-versed in analytics, training and development, and business leadership. To commemorate his military accomplishments, Mr. Manson was honored with two Meritorious Service Medals in 1994 and 1995. Likewise, he received three Army Commendation Medals and a National Defense Ribbon for his efforts in the United States Army. Following his time in the United States Army, he was determined to find a new and equally fulfilling career; he thankfully discovered that his skill set was uniquely suited to working with his local police department in El Paso. Looking toward the future, Mr. Manson hopes to retire sometime in the coming years while also remaining involved as a teacher and instructor in his community.
