Juliana Marques, Esq., is a tax attorney with more than 15 years of diverse experience in accounting, business law and international tax law. Born in Brazil, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 to pursue higher education. Ms. Marques received a BBA in accounting, magna cum laude, from Western Connecticut State University in 2007 and a JD with a focus on business law and international law from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012. She also earned the Business School Dean’s Award and the Connecticut Society of CPAs Award during her college years. Ms. Marques worked at Linde (formerly Praxair Inc.) as an accountant at the onset of her career, and after being admitted to practice by the California Bar Association in 2012, she worked at Baker McKenzie until 2021, when she accepted her current role as a senior tax principal for Airbnb Inc. Her role expands from leading the company’s international tax provisions and compliance operations to more complex planning. Ms. Marques is multilingual, has published extensively on international tax matters, and served as the editor of several industry journals.
