514 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS After contracting COVID-19 in 2020, which left her with long-term neurological symptoms to treat accordingly, Ms. Jensen later returned to Mary Washington Healthcare as an oncology and medical-surgical nurse in 2022. Today, she is honored to continue her work with oncology patients. She considers her recovery and experience as a patient to be formative to her approach to nursing, and she remains deeply dedicated to working to secure safer staffing for medical professionals. Outside her work in the medical field, Ms. Jensen is a dedicated adoptive and foster parent, having fostered 29 children since 2014. She credits her success to her faith and to the inspiration of one early patient, whose positivity and philosophy on life shaped her practice. In the coming years, she hopes to empower others by writing a book or starting a YouTube channel with practical nursing and healthcare tips. Stephanie Dawn Jensen has possessed a passion for medicine and a desire to help others from a young age, with some of her earliest memories being those from taking care of her siblings. Inspired by her aunt, a nurse, she decided to turn her natural interest into a career in the health care industry. Prior to beginning her career, she attended Pensacola Christian College, earning a BSN in 2010 and an MSN in 2012. In 2015, she became a board-certified medical-surgical registered nurse. Ms. Jensen’s earliest nursing experience was with Mary Washington Healthcare and Visiting Angels In-Home Care. She began her work with the organizations as a certified nursing assistant in 2008 while attending school and working other part-time jobs to support her family and studies. After graduating, she remained at Pensacola Christian College as a nursing instructor, and in 2012, she joined the faculty at Trinity Washington University as an adjunct instructor. Ms. Jensen further developed her career with Mary Washington Healthcare, becoming a registered nurse in 2012 and an assistant manager from 2016 until 2018. The institution has honored her with numerous awards, including a 2018 Nursing Leadership Award.
