Early in his career, Mr. Berry worked with IBM and in employee relations for Procter and Gamble. He transitioned into human resources management in the 1980s as the director of human resources for Digital Equipment Corporation and the vice president of human resources and administration for the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. In 1990, Mr. Berry joined Colgate Palmolive, where he worked for 18 years before becoming a corporate officer and vice president of global workplace initiatives. During this time, he played a key role in leading human resources and building the company’s first diversity, equity and inclusion program. Mr. Berry has lived and worked in more than 60 countries, which he considers to be formative in his approach to business and cross-cultural communication. Following his exit from the corporate sector, he served as the chief human resources officer for the Clinton Foundation, gaining insights into the needs of nonprofit organizations. Mr. Berry is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and the African American Human Resources Association. Furthermore, he is the author of “Being Better Than You Believe: 8 Steps to Ultimate Success,” and he remains dedicated to helping educate others and facilitate organizational development. To commemorate his accomplishments, he has received numerous honors, including an Outstanding Community Development Award from the state of New York. Mr. Berry emphasizes that sharing knowledge with others and empowering his clients to evolve their operations and culture is his primary motivator, and he looks forward to continuing his work in consulting and coaching.
