Smith has found success through her role as the head trainer and mentor of Dog Trainer U.S. LLC since 2005. Leveraging the expertise of numerous certified staff members, the business provides highly customizable behavioral training and therapeutic services for dogs of all breeds and ages. In her leadership role within the organization, Ms. Smith is largely responsible for overseeing her staff, ensuring client satisfaction and managing the health of dogs entrusted to her care. Ms. Smith has also served on the board of directors for the Veterinary Health Care Team at the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association since 2002, during which time she was also the chair of the education committee and the president of the organization between 2008 and 2009. Furthermore, she is the president of Arizona Search Track and Rescue, a nonprofit organization that provides trained dog teams for locating lost or missing persons. Additionally, she is the owner of the Sundance Trainer Academy, which provides mentorship for professionals who seek to open their own dog training businesses. She also manages Mentored Service, a nonprofit organization that provides service and facility dogs to individuals, schools, law enforcement agencies, and medical and mental health facilities in need. Ms. Smith is a certified veterinary technician and canine athlete specialist, in addition to holding multiple certifications through the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), including as an advanced dog trainer, trainer instructor, service dog trainer, and in Cynopraxic principles of LIMA. Reflecting the multifaceted scope of her interests, she is also a certified professional scuba diver with 13 advanced certifications, and she has eight certifications in search and rescue operations. Well-regarded for her accomplishments, Ms. Smith has been honored with numerous accolades, including from the Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona, the Victoria Dog Obedience Club, the IACP and the Kentucky Search Dog Association.
