22 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE For over 40 years, Greg Burke has been shaping cities and communities as an architect and architectural policy advisor. He discovered his creative talents at a young age after learning to draw as a form of physical therapy, and he later reconnected with design as a high school student athlete after enrolling in a mechanical drawing class. Mechanical drawing piqued his interest in architecture, and by the time he graduated, he was training for a career in the field. In 1981, Mr. Burke was earned a BS in architecture and urban design from The Ohio State University. As a professional, he has attained licensure in eight states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Mr. Burke began his career as a project architect for Gensler and quickly made his way into leadership roles, becoming a technical director for Hillier Group in 1989 and a design principal at Donadio & Associates in 1995. Since 1998, he has served as the president of Gregory John Burke | Architect, PA, an independent practice offering a full range of commercial, institutional and residential design services with an emphasis on multifamily and mixeduse buildings. The company has completed projects for many clients, including Bristol Myers Squibb, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and American Home Products, in addition to townhome, assisted living, church and private home sites. Mr. Burke continues to partner with industry leaders, and he has taken an active role in advocating for the future of the architectural profession. Likewise, he is a former vice president and director of the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects. Since 2022, he has also served as a member of the Florida Board of Architecture & Interior Design, where he reviews cases brought before the board to assess legality and regulatory compliance and implement sanctions as needed. He became the Vice Chair in 2024. Attributing his long-term success to his leadership skills, ethics and perseverance, Mr. Burke looks forward to continuing his work in the coming years, emphasizing mentorship and sharing his knowledge.
