75 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT In his more recent professional efforts, Mr. Moore joined the CPA firm of his wife, Elizabeth, after she recognized his talent for business management. Starting with only two other employees, Moore Candella & Associates has since expanded to over 40 employees and thousands of clients. Ever committed to working as a team, the couple have long supported each other’s careers and ambitions. To wit, they are both grateful to have raised their daughter, Nicole, who has followed their example in giving her best effort in everything she does. In accounting for his success, Mr. Moore credits his intrinsic empathy and passion for the stories of others, as well as the lifelong love and support of his family. He is also proud to have distinguished himself as an effective historian and researcher. Looking to the future, he aspires to write a book on propaganda used during the American Civil War and continue delivering presentations for The Mariners’ Museum. Presently, Mr. Moore remains active with the Speakers Bureau at the Mariners’ Museum and Park in Newport News, the largest maritime museum in the United States. In this capacity, he regularly delivers lectures on history for military audiences and other organizations and groups. Bearing a particular focus on naval warfare, Mr. Moore has spoken on a wide variety of subjects, including ancient warfare. As a journalist, he was a member of the Associated Press Sports Editors, the Virginia Press Association, the Sports Writers Associations of Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi, and the Society of American Baseball Research. Mr. Moore embarked upon his vocational journey as an architectural major in college. However, he gradually found himself drawn to the world of sports and was soon accepted to study at the School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. Serving as the sports editor for the college newspaper, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1982.
