87 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Ivan Kudashev is a seasoned expert in the field of professional dancing. With more than 25 years of practiced expertise to his credit, he has served as a co-founder, co-owner and lead dancer at The Ballroom Dance House in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, since 2021. The dance studio is dedicated to providing students of all ages with the highest quality training and instruction in ballroom dancing. The studio’s key services include private lessons, group classes and preparatory sessions for competitions and shows. Mr. Kudashev and his colleagues also encourage tutelage and training for the sheer enjoyment of dancing. In his leadership role, Mr. Kudashev personally trains many students on a weekly basis in all forms of ballroom dancing, teaching items such as choreography and fitness in both group and private sessions. Prior to his current appointment, he worked with the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Montville, New Jersey, for two years. Before he immigrated to the United States in 2017, Mr. Kudashev maintained an extensive tenure as a docent at The Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts in Russia. As a former student of the institution as well, he achieved a master’s degree in dance direction in 2011. Ever committed to his profession, Mr. Kudashev also maintains membership with the National Dance Council of America Inc. Adjacent to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Kudashev, alongside his wife and fellow business co-owner Ksusha Sokolova, has participated in numerous dance competitions throughout his time in the field. In 2019, the duo was named the UK Open Professional RS Latin Finalists, among six other couples. Furthermore, during the same year, they became the United States National Professional Latin Show Dance Champions. Among his other accolades, Mr. Kudashev is a Russian National Vice Champion, and he has been a finalist and semi-finalist in several other European and world championships. Attributing his achievements to his dedicated work ethic, he is proud to have guided many students to success in the dance industry, including two of his students who have become United States champions.
