Under his leadership, the company experienced significant growth, expanding from three brands and 30% global market share to over 50 brands and at least 50% global market share. Noted for his manifold achievements, Mr. Ponturo was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and bestowed with the Lifetime Innovator Award from PROMAXBDA Sports and Marketing the in 2010. He has also been ranked among the top 20 most powerful people in the sports industry and at 14th rank of Businessweek’s most prominent executives. In the coming years, Mr. Ponturo aspires to continue improving business practices across the board, as he seeks to serve as a rational voice amidst a sea of substandard habits. Anthony “Tony” Ponturo is well-regarded for more than 45 years of experience in the field of sports media, marketing and entertainment. To wit, he has garnered recent acclaim as the chief executive officer of Ponturo Management Group LLC, through which he serves as an adviser and consultant for a variety of businesses and clients in the sports industries. Known for his insight and expertise, Mr. Ponturo has regularly been featured as a marketing commentator on such media outlets as CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg News and Lou Dobbs Tonight. He currently advises The Spare Food Co., Fan Controlled Sports & Entertainment Inc., and the United States Tennis Association. Alongside his primary commitments, Mr. Ponturo has served as an executive-in-residence for Columbia University’s sports management program, and he was a member of the advisory board at Villanova University’s College of Arts and Sciences. He has also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, where he was appointed as the director of industry relations for the Tisch Sports Institute for Sports Management, Media and Business.
