397 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition FINANCE AND INSURANCE of the Year by the Evans Scholars Foundation. Mr. Glass entered the financial services sector in 1974 after realizing his skills were well-suited for international banking. Mr. Glass developed a reputation working in derivatives and risk reduction for foreign exchange payments and settlement processes. He served on several industry risk management committees and testified as an expert witness before the House Banking Committee during its consideration of seminal legislation governing derivatives. As the chairman of the board of Multinet International Bank, Mr. Glass is credited with introducing payment-versuspayment techniques in the FX settlement process, reducing the risk of loss by over 95%. In his retirement, Mr. Glass donates his time as a lecturer for the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, educating hundreds of central bankers and commercial bankers in the use of complex financial instruments. This work has taken him to Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Morocco, Poland and Tunisia. A gifted public speaker and lifelong bon vivant, Mr. Glass has recently turned his focus to writing. He has published two historical fiction novels on early Christianity (the “Jehoshua” series), and the third in the series is to be published soon. His 2018 nonfiction book, “Who Cut God’s Hair,” won the Bronze Medal from the Independent Publisher’s Group for a work on religion and spiritualism. In this book, Mr. Glass developed a unique five-stage model that explains how belief in God is nurtured in infants and children well before they receive any religious instruction. Mr. Glass has been a lifelong advocate for the arts, serving on many nonprofit boards. He performs locally as a classical pianist and is known for his informative and entertaining talks on music history, composers and performers. Garrett R.
