Originally from Guatemala, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in 1991 and began working for Unisys, a global technology solutions company. After spending four years with Unisys, he joined Krones, covering Central America, the United States and the Caribbean. Recognized for his skills and experience, Mr. Cartagena was hired by Sidel, a French competitor to his previous employer based in the U.S. Over the 15 years he spent at Sidel, he rose from an automation expert to an automation manager for all the U.S. In 2020, he decided to begin his own business.
