306 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Howard R. Kornstein draws on over four decades of experience as an expert in the field of engineering. Particularly well-versed as a design engineer in robotics, shelters, air-supported structures, and power and cooling systems, he served as the chief engineer and senior principal engineer at Raytheon Missiles and Defense from 2003 to 2022. Mr. Kornstein previously worked with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a staff member from 1986 to 2003. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Kornstein attended Northeastern University, where he studied mechanical engineering. He would subsequently achieve a Bachelor of Science in 1983 and a Master of Science in 1988. In addition to his academic credentials, he is also well-regarded as a licensed mechanical engineer in the state of Massachusetts. Ever committed to his profession, Mr. Kornstein remains affiliated with The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Attributing much of his success to his deep interest in engineering fundamentals and his interpersonal skills, he is notably proud to hold several patents for his robotics venture at Raytheon. In the coming years, he hopes to complete his latest invention, a ship cleaning and enhancement robot. CHIEF ENGINEER, SENIOR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER Raytheon Missiles and Defense Lexington, MA Having accrued over 50 years of experience, Dr. Robert A. Leishear serves as the president of Leishear Engineering LLC, an engineering consulting firm. Dedicated to providing effective technical solutions to stop industrial disasters, he draws from a wealth of prior knowledge gained at the Savannah River National Laboratory, where he worked as a research, design and nuclear process engineer. He has authored two books on engineering, published over 180 scholarly works via professional publications, and invented various novel theories on the causative factors and prevention strategies for water main breaks, gas pipeline explosions, offshore oil rig explosions and nuclear disasters, including the Fukushima explosions. Well-regarded for his contributions to mechanical engineering, Dr. Leishear was appointed as a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a distinction earned for his completion of an engineering textbook focusing on piping failure analysis and fluid mechanics. He was further bestowed with the Copper Black Award for Creative Achievement from Mensa International. Looking ahead, Dr. Leishear works to finish writing “Industrial Murder for Profit,” an examination of the politics and cover-ups behind piping failures and industrial explosions, where future disasters can be prevented.
