647 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Lindsay Trapp is a partner at Dechert LLP, a multinational law firm handling complex cross-border business, finance and intellectual property cases. She has operated for nearly 20 years and has been admitted to practice law in both the United States and Ireland. Ms. Trapp graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver with a BSBA. She subsequently achieved a graduate diploma in law from the University College Cork in 2006, followed by a JD in international law from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 2007. After internships with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado and a stint as a paralegal, Ms. Trapp moved to Ireland and began her career as a legal and technical executive officer for the Irish Funds Industry Association. She joined Dechert LLP in 2011 as an associate, and she credits senior partner Declan O’Sullivan for his guidance as a mentor after she joined the firm. In 2021, Ms. Trapp became a senior associate in the firm’s financial services group, which she played a key role in helping to develop. She was made a partner of the firm in 2022 and continues to focus on financial cases, including private credit fund formation, structured products, captive CLO equity funds, and international debt and insurance structuring. Ms. Trapp is proud to have earned the right to practice law in two countries and attributes her success to the mentors and colleagues who supported and championed her along the way. She believes her emphasis on innovation and creating new methods of working set her apart, and she is a dedicated, lifelong learner. Already recognized as a leader in her specialty, she hopes to become an equity partner in Dechert LLP within five years, with the eventual goal of heading the firm’s United States-based private funds group.
