Throughout his career, Dr. Urso has prioritized using his skills to help others, leading him to volunteer in disaster relief efforts during 9/11 and contribute to FEMA evacuation strategies during Hurricanes Ike and Katrina. In his retirement, he remains active in the community as vice president of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Association. Likewise, he maintains his passion for preserving and promoting local history. Dr. David E. Urso is a retired psychologist and special agent for the United States Department of the Treasury, where he enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades. Since childhood, he had been interested in a career in law enforcement, and he began his journey after serving in the United States military in Vietnam. After returning to civilian life, he began working for the government and studying for the treasury agent enforcement exam, eventually scoring a 108 with his veterans’ score bonus. As an agent for the Department of the Treasury, Dr. Urso worked in drug enforcement and went undercover on numerous cases. Though successful with the United States Department of the Treasury, he eventually returned to school to fulfill a promise to his late girlfriend. He earned a master’s degree in psychology from Lewis University and completed a Doctor of Psychology from The Chicago School in 2000, with clinical residencies at Harvard University Medical Center and the North Chicago VA Medical Center. Dr. Urso later served as a New England regional manager for the Veterans Administration. During DAVID E.
