As part of his daily responsibilities, he also travels to trade shows and conferences in order to stay ahead of industry developments, such as a boom in microbreweries and new categories of draft beverages; some such products include wine, cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks. Ever committed to his profession, Mr. Klein is a member of the Brewers Association of America and the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association. He is also in the process of launching a nonprofit, the Clean Beer Initiative, dedicated to raising awareness of proper beer line cleaning and sanitation practices to ensure safety and quality across the industry. In light of his fulfilling career, he credits his success to his dedicated work ethic, resilience, and being part of a strong team. Mr. Klein looks forward to pursuing thoughtful company expansion over the next decade, with plans to explore lucrative franchising opportunities. Nick Klein is a draft beer industry expert and an owner of Northwest Draft Technicians, a company providing breweries and taprooms with highquality draft beverage dispensing systems. One of three co-owners, he runs the company alongside his brother and a business partner, leveraging his expertise in draft beer systems installation in order to provide clients with modern, tailored solutions for serving draft beer on tap. Backed by an associate degree from Mt. Hood Community College and an Oregon construction contractor license, he utilizes an in-depth understanding of the needs of the brewing industry and the practical concerns of installation and build engineering. Since 2014, Mr. Klein has also served his company as a managing partner, a role in which he oversees scheduling, staff operations and project management. Today, the company serves over 450 accounts. He is proud of his team of 13 full-time draft technicians who clean and maintain pre-installed systems and provide instrumental services, including coordination with vendors, subcontractors and financial professionals.
