For 24 years, beginning in 1999, he has operated as a manufacturers’ representative at MAJEC Sales. Previously, he excelled as the owner and operator of Gils of Gloucester, a retail sporting goods, bicycle and embroidery store. He is similarly well-regarded for serving as the president of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce between 1988 and 1989, where he created an auction fundraiser that has raised over $1 million to date. Mr. Margolis also helped create the downtown Gloucester Christmas Parade. Mr. Margolis previously pursued a formal education, earning a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1972 and an MPA from Northeastern University in 1973. In his civic-minded pursuits, he served as president of his local B’nai B’rith chapter and the North Shore Council of B’nai B’rith.
