Outside the medical sphere, he is active in his children’s school PTAs and pioneered a program encouraging more fathers to volunteer in schools, reaching a participation milestone of 153 enrollees in just three years. He is the creator of State Nomad LLC, a retail products company encouraging active tourism, and hopes to launch its national website in 2024. Anthony L. Houpe is an award-winning healthcare sales professional with more than 15 years of success specializing in medical devices and the gynecologic surgery market. He holds a BA in psychology from Winston-Salem State University and credits his early career inspiration to the work ethic that his parents, a hard-working, blue-collar Vietnam veteran father and a bank managing mother, modeled for him. After working for Citigroup as a pension payroll analyst, Mr. Houpe made the transition into sales as a manager and representative for Sharp Business Systems Inc. and Modular Document Solutions. In 2009, he entered the pharmaceutical and medical sales sector as a field representative for Warner Chilcott, going on to spend five years as a regional sales representative for Conceptus Inc., now a subsidiary of Bayer. In 2017, he joined Minerva Surgical Inc. as a sales representative. In 2020 he was promoted to field sales trainer, rising to become national sales training manager in 2022 and associate director of professional education the following year.
