502 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS A successful nurse practitioner and entrepreneur, Dr. Gibson I. Erhunmwunse celebrates nearly 30 years in his field. After immigrating to the United States from Nigeria in 1989, he attended George Mason University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996. Four years later, he received a master’s degree in nursing practice from a joint program between George Mason University and George Washington University. Later in his career, he returned to school, pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland and graduating in 2022. Dr. Erhunmwunse specializes in cardiology and pulmonary medicine for adult and geriatric patients. After gaining experience in a broad range of settings, from skilled nursing facilities to acute care centers, he started his first home care company in the early 2000s. As a business owner, he strives to create opportunities to innovate and bridge the gap between home care and patient education services, and he recently partnered with Kaiser Permanente to design a congestive heart failure program for a local hospital. He is particularly proud to have mentored students and preservice nurses from Washington University and Grand Canyon University, who have gone on to care for patients in the community and receive clinical honors from local institutions. Setting his sights on the future, Dr. Erhunmwunse hopes to see his work improve nursing as a field. He is pursuing partnerships with the business community to develop young entrepreneurs who can drive progress in health care. With a goal of becoming a consultant in the field, he is eager to contribute his expertise and knowledge to advance the nursing profession and improve health outcomes. DR. GIBSON I.
