Initially planning to become a physician or a veterinarian, Mr. Smith earned a BS at the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Science in 2004. Following a period of international study in Argentina, he instead pursued a career in finance, excelling as a sales associate for JPMorgan Chase before moving into dual roles as vice president at Commerce Street Capital and vice president of lending at Mineral Financial Services. In 2014, he was named chief executive officer of American Color Labs San Antonio, and he continued to excel in executive leadership as the owner and chief financial officer of RedSmith Graphic Solutions. The same year, he achieved an MBA at Southern Methodist University. In addition to his work with MidCoast Medical Center-Central, Mr. Smith is the owner and manager of D. P. Smith & Son and RedSmith Genetics, a company providing genetic material and testing to cattle and horse breeders. He has been recognized as a Mergers & Acquisition Awards Dealmaker of the Year and is proud to be the youngest inductee into a local hall of fame. Mr. Smith credits his success to his ability to think outside the box and create unique solutions to the challenges that arise in any business environment. In the coming years, he hopes to stand as an example of the possibilities of pushing limits and working beyond his comfort zone. Health care entrepreneur Hatch C.
