759 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition TECHNOLOGY While serving as a control systems analyst for Metro Water Recovery, Mr. Budzynski focused on operational and information technology (OT and IT). Traditional industrial control methods were converging with IT communications and additional layers of software, which he leveraged to create a higher level of resiliency in various systems. Mr. Budzynski then took time to focus on his family and his business, IT/OT Systems, emphasizing intelligent industrial control systems. He also worked as a senior automation specialist at Prime Controls LP. Mr. Budzynski is pursuing a patent for general algorithmic control (GAC), a four-element controller, which builds on the industrystandard proportional integral derivative (PID) algorithm for providing process control for feedback control of an operator. The GAC method utilizes feedback linearization for time-based slope determination of the system parameters, which are embedded within the known three-element controller to establish inner and outer loop functionality of a final process control point. Through Mr. Budzynski’s method, a PID algorithm can be implemented to more efficiently optimize processes utilizing data-driven and learned system dynamics. Looking ahead, Mr. Budzynski plans to further contribute to his industry by helping to create logical code development standards and libraries. He believes there should be a defined, standard object library for basic process components that can support comprehensive device blocks. Furthermore, he has developed and implemented novel techniques for OT network designs that enable more secure and robust communication between OT devices. Committed to making positive changes in his field, he hopes to continue influencing industry trends, grow IT and OT Systems, develop patents, and create value through process optimization. Industry pioneer Gregory J. Budzynski celebrates 17 years of success as an engineer. He holds a BS in electrical and electronics engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He began working in the automation and controls industry as a field commissioning engineer at Intelligrated Inc., which has since been acquired as a subsidiary of Honeywell. GREGORY J.
