As he progresses in his career, he plans to pursue leadership roles, with the goal of becoming a director of engineering for a major American OEM, and he hopes to devote more time to mentorship and staff development. When he is not working, he enjoys playing tennis and cricket, hiking, and spending time with his friends. Arijey Chaporkar celebrates a decade of success in automotive engineering and design. Originally from India, Mr. Chaporkar attended the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in Rajasthan, India, earning both a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science in mathematics in 2011. After immigrating to the United States, he received a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering in 2013. Shortly after graduating, Mr. Chaporkar joined engineering consultant Goken America as a mechanical design engineer. He went on to work with companies such as Great Learning Education Services Private Limited and L&T Technology Services Limited before settling into his current position as BIW design engineer at Detroit Engineered Products, a global product engineering company. At Detroit Engineered Products, he is responsible for designing the metal structure of automobiles and coordinating the manufacturing, assembly and simulation groups that realize his designs.
