Inspired by his father’s career in information technology for the United States Marine Corps, he began his career as a helpdesk technician for Geek Squad in the early 2000s. With the encouragement of his early professional mentors, Mr. Gillespie quickly moved from helpdesk and general IT settings to working in network and wireless infrastructure for Liberty Healthcare Corporation. He first joined MegaCorp Logistics in 2012, departing in 2014 when he was named director of information technology architecture and governance for American Savings Bank. Mr. Gillespie continued to excel in technology management as lead systems administrator for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. He returned to MegaCorp Logistics in 2020 as director of information technology, rising to his current role as chief technology officer in 2022. Under Mr. Gillespie’s leadership, MegaCorp Logistics has migrated to a cloud-based hybrid workflow, tripled annual revenue to more than $950 million, and doubled the company workforce to nearly 800 employees. He looks forward to continuing to promote its aggressive growth, with a target of $3 billion in annual revenue within five years, and is proud to be a major influence on MegaCorp Logistics’ community and educational partnerships with organizations including StepUp Wilmington and District C.
