Bockler is a flight instructor and pioneering experimental pilot whose achievements include flying the first hydrogen-electric propulsion aircraft. Since joining the Civil Air Patrol at 15 years old, Mr. Bockler has been passionate about aviation. In 2012, he received a Bachelor of Science in aeronautics from EmbryRiddle Aeronautical University, going on to work as an aviation services contractor for the United States Department of Defense. Currently, Mr. Bockler is a pilot, instructor, and airman for Berry Aviation Inc. and an experimental test pilot for Universal Hydrogen. In March 2023, he flew the first aircraft powered by hydrogen-electric propulsion, a groundbreaking achievement for sustainable aviation and the highlight of his professional journey thus far. In recognition of this breakthrough, the airplane and its engine will be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution. Mr. Bockler plans to create the first electric aviation training center in the country, where he will train pilots in flight simulation.
