248 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ADJUNCT FACULTY The Citadel, Trident Technical College Cross, SC EDUCATION Sanya Kerney has found success as the director and owner of Kiddies Korner, a child care program that offers a high-quality nurturing environment for children and babies as young as two months old. In her capacity at the center, she provides ageappropriate activities for children under her care. Likewise, she trains teachers who share her passion for childcare to perform duties that uphold the Kiddies Korner philosophy: “Where kids love to learn.” Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Kerney previously served as the director of two centers for children, in addition to briefly working in a preschool setting. Early childhood education always fascinated Ms. Kerney, even though it was not considered an important part of Indian culture. After relocating to the United States, she used her free time to complete online courses in child development before taking the CBEST to apply for a teaching job. Since then, hard work and dedication have been the two key factors of her success. Looking ahead, she plans to serve as a mentor to those who might seek to follow her example and pursue careers of their own in child care.
