254 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine PROFESSOR South Georgia State College St. Simons Island, GA EDUCATION Dr. Steven Alan Samson leverages several decades of practiced expertise as a writer and independent scholar. Over the course of his career, he has notably authored several cultural and historical texts, including his 2017 piece, “Rival Traditions of Liberty: America vs. the European Union,” which was published by Liberty University. Dr. Samson also served as a professor of government at Liberty University from 1998 to 2017, having previously held several other noteworthy teaching positions throughout his career. As part of his vocational journey, Dr. Samson cultivated his own higher education, initially studying at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied political science and earned a BA in 1969 and an MA in 1974. He would ultimately achieve a PhD in the same subject from the University of Oregon in 1984. Ever committed to his profession, Dr. Samson is also affiliated with the Philadelphia Society. He is particularly happy to have participated in the Salvatori Fellowship with the Heritage Foundation in 1994. Likewise, he is grateful to have conducted a plethora of research in political theory and constitutional history during his tenure in the field. WRITER, INDEPENDENT SCHOLAR Vancouver, WA Attributing her success to her empathetic attitude, Rebecca Littleton Sims, JD, serves as a professor at South Georgia State College, where she teaches coursework in constitutional law, American government and international relations. With over 20 years of experience in education to her credit, she initially joined the faculty at South Georgia State as an assistant professor in 2000 and later served as an associate professor of political science at Georgia Highlands College. Outside of her work in education, Ms. Sims hails from a wealth of expertise in legal service as an attorney in private practice. She also earned distinction as a prosecuting attorney for the Coffee County Georgia State Court Solicitor between 1989 and 1996. Afterwards, she served of counsel on behalf of Chuck Sims, a former representative of the Georgia House of Representatives, until 2008. Looking toward the future, Ms. Sims hopes to continue distinguishing herself in the field of education. In addition to her professional achievements, she is proud to have raised three wonderful children and to have mentored students who have since become productive community members.
