259 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Arrendell has developed a reputation of excellence as a thought leader in health care manufacturing and quality engineering. Well-qualified in his field, he holds both a BS in mechanical engineering and an MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Arrendell previously worked as a site operations and manufacturing quality manager for Abbott Diagnostics and had risen to executive roles by 2004. To wit, he oversaw global quality assurance and regulatory affairs for health care industry leaders, such as Wright Medical Technology, KCI Medical and Becton Dickinson. In 2019, he was named worldwide vice president of quality management at Jabil Healthcare, and in 2020, he stepped into his current position as the company’s chief quality officer. As an executive, Mr. Arrendell draws on his deep knowledge of international regulations and market trends affecting health care device licensure and approval, as well as a strong ability to forge local and regional partnerships for longterm growth. As an innovator in his field, he was named one of Health Technology Report’s Top 25 Healthcare Leaders of San Antonio. He also sits on the board of advisors for the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in addition to several industry board posts. Mr. Arrendell credits his success to his ability to connect with others and emphasizes the need to approach business from a team building and client service perspective. Among his successes, he is proud to have helped Jabil Healthcare become one of the industry’s most technologically advanced manufacturers. In the coming years, he looks forward to continuing his work with a focus on stewardship and education in the form of increased emphasis on mentorship and advisory roles, and he hopes to shape the next generation of leaders by sharing his industry experience. After exploring high-level academic opportunities in mechanical engineering, Paul A. Arrendell started working in robotics and vision systems designs. He then accrued leadership experience working for the U.S. government and furthered his manufacturing and operations experience in the automotive industry.
