Knudson has excelled as a maple syrup producer and the owner of Montana MapleWorks in Missoula, Montana, since 2019. Serendipitously discovering his vocation, he has been considered the first maple producer in Montana, having been featured in several news outlets that catapulted him to fame as a maple sugaring and production expert. As the only individual that produces maple syrup commercially in Montana, Mr. Knudson notably taught the production process to the state’s agricultural and health departments. Additionally, he operates the highest-elevation commercial syrup operation in the United States and is the world’s only maple syrup maker who sources sap from urban forests.
