Roberts jumped at the chance to join Asphalt Systems Inc. in 2015 when the owner, Jay B. Walters — who also happens to be one of Mr. Roberts’ oldest friends — approached him with a new job opportunity. Asphalt Systems, a manufacturer and distributor of pavement preservation products, produces the only certified green asphalt emulsion available in the United States. Since 2015, Mr. Roberts has served as a managing director for his company, handling legal matters such as contracts, international agreements and lifecycle assessments. Prior to his current appointment, he worked with Harris Bank in Chicago and excelled as the head of corporate finance at Kemper Securities. Adjacent to his primary vocational endeavors, Mr. Roberts is an avid supporter of both environmental preservation and the arts, serving on the boards of the Institute for Environmental Research and Education and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Now in his 80s, he hopes to continue a legacy of learning and innovating for many more years to come. MANAGING DIRECTOR Asphalt Systems Inc. Newburgh, IN Bolstered by nearly three decades of practiced expertise, Eric Robinson is a proven business owner and manager. Since 2019, he has served as the owner of the Shields Valley Ranchers, having previously operated as a ranch owner for 25 years. Based in Wilsall, Montana, the meat ranch is well-regarded in the community for providing exceptional goods and raising its livestock with the highest standards of care. Operating at the head of his enterprise, Mr. Robinson employs outside-the-box thinking to ensure his business stays competitive and progressive, in addition to overseeing all daily operations on the ranch. Mr. Robinson also continues to participate as a civic-minded citizen in his community. To wit, he regularly volunteers with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and he is an active member of the Wilson Rodeo Association. In his pursuit of a formal education, he earned an associate’s degree in metal technology at the Helena College of Technology in 2003. Attributing his success to the support of his wife, family and colleagues, Mr. Robinson is proud of his professional achievements, and he looks forward to further developing his business in the coming years.
