With over three decades of experience to his credit, encompassing many years of leadership and teaching on behalf of both college and secondary school students, Dr. Triplett has earned a positive reputation as a man of peerless vision and dedication. Well-regarded for his accomplishments, Dr. Triplett is proud to have led efforts to increase student attendance at Charles Sumner High School from 31% to 78%. He has received a proclamation from the mayor of St. Louis and a resolution from the state senate in 2013. Other accolades to his credit include his achievement in being the first African American in Missouri to receive the AdvancED Excellence in Education Award, which honored his work in leading and empowering his community by creating opportunities that enable students to reach their greatest potential. Dr. Triplett began his career as a substitute teacher, having received a BS from Lane College, an MSW from Saint Louis University and an MBA from Webster University. He went on to study educational administration at Lindenwood University, where he earned an MA in 2006. Following this achievement, he attended Capella University, from which he attained a PhD in educational leadership and administration in 2013. Well-qualified in his area of expertise, he also holds a certificate in district leadership from the National Superintendents Academy. Reflecting on his previous achievements, Dr. Triplett attributes much of his success to his personal background, as well as his passion for serving as a mentor to others. His experiences have led him to take a systemsoriented approach to leadership, providing the best solutions for the teachers and departments under his guidance. In the coming years, Dr. Triplett aspires to engage in more consulting work and serve as a coach to executive leaders. Driven by the belief that all people can rise to the challenge and make a positive impact on the lives of others, Dr. Michael D. Triplett has distinguished himself as a highly capable superintendent of schools for the Normandy Schools Collaborative. The public school district serves over 20 municipalities in St. MICHAEL D.
