326 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Passionate about historical restoration, Terry L. Buchholz combined 39 years of cabinetry and general contracting experience with an entrepreneurial spirit to build a successful business. A hands-on individual, he excelled for many years as a cabinet maker, project manager and superintendent for a general contractor. When visiting a local farm to buy furniture, he glimpsed an old barn on the property and was struck by its rustic charm. Purchasing the property, he restored the barn to its original glory and transformed it and the surrounding property into a beautiful wedding venue, Venue 1883. Named after the barn’s original building date, Venue 1883 opened in 2021 in Cass County, Nebraska. The historic limestone building — a staple of Nebraska’s historic architecture — was restored by Mr. Buchholz himself, utilizing his decades of contracting experience to elevate the structure to modern standards while also maintaining its historic integrity and appearance. As the third owner of the property, he has endeavored to honor the previous owners, the Meisinger and Propst families, as well as the property’s original purpose as a farm. Today, Venue 1883 offers catering options through another celebrated local business, Abraham Catering, which was established in 1951. For Mr. Buchholz, he considers the most valuable aspect of Venue 1883 to be the awe and appreciation of visitors and clients when they see the results of his painstaking restoration work. To wit, he enjoys sharing the beautiful property with his daughters and partner, and he hopes to continue making it a perfect wedding destination in the coming years. In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to his honesty, integrity, fairness and dedicated work ethic. Looking to the future, Mr. Buchholz hopes to continue facilitating events through Venue 1883 and helping others. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee TERRY L.
