She worked with News of the World and as an insurance underwriter before beginning a 40-year career as a flight attendant, traveling internationally with some of the industry’s biggest names before her retirement in 2007. Since 2010, Lady Townley-Peeler has been the chairman and chief executive officer of Putumayo Production Co., an oil and gas company founded by her husband in 1967. As the company’s sole decision-maker, she manages acquisitions, well drilling plans and royalties, in addition to overseeing corporate holdings, investments and long-range strategy. She is proud of her success as an independent female entrepreneur, attributing her accomplishments to her business acumen and strong professional judgment. A lifelong dedication to diversity and fostering connections with others has been the driving factor in Lady Townley-Peeler’s commitment to philanthropy. Her extensive experience living and working abroad lent her a fearless attitude toward pursuing her goals and underscored her empathy and open-mindedness. She has dedicated much of her life to supporting her community through volunteer work and charitable outreach, and she remains passionate about organizing and hosting parties and other social events. As a creative and personal outlet, Lady Townley-Peeler has maintained an active journaling practice since 1955.
