Prior to beginning her own independent ventures, Ms. Sporer acted as senior vice president of business and legal affairs for Scholastic Inc. from 1996 to 2019. In her former work endeavors, Ms. Sporer worked with Synchronal Corporation as the senior vice president of business affairs and general counsel from 1992 to 1995. She also formerly served as senior vice president and general counsel of United Satellite Communications Inc. from 1984 to 1986. Prior to the foregoing, Ms. Sporer served as a senior executive at MGM/UA and at MTV and Nickelodeon, and she was an associate with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Upon graduation from law school, she became a law clerk to the Honorable Leonard I. Garth, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Sporer attended Tufts University, earning a BS in biochemistry with a minor in French and art history. She subsequently received a JD at the New York University School of Law. Ever committed to her profession, she remains active with several organizations, including New York Women in Film and Television and the British Academy of Film and Television. Well-regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy, Ms. Sporer has completed a wealth of pro bono work over the course of her career, volunteering with and donating to various charitable causes, such as breast cancer research, animal charities and New York Downtown Hospital. Looking toward the future, Ms. Sporer continues to engage in filmmaking, AI and new media ventures. A ndrea D.
