For him, success is not a personal matter, instead revolving around empowering individuals to realize their purpose matters, irrespective of age, gender, race or socioeconomic status. Mr. Campbell has dedicated his life and career to helping others by highlighting their value and importance in the world. An artist himself, he graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography, his lifelong passion. Prior to forming alt_Chicago with his business partner, Mr. Campbell taught at schools and universities in Chicago, which helped ignite his desire to help his community grow and evolve. In the coming years, he hopes to continue expanding his business with a new facility that will allow customers to engage in the arts, academics and programming. Yancy L. Carrigan has distinguished himself as an on-air host and music director for WESM-FM, a listener-supported public radio station that broadcasts throughout portions of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Driven to become a disc jockey in order to share his music with others, Mr. Carrigan joined the station as a volunteer in 1988 and was eventually hired on a full-time basis in 1997. He remained active at WESM-FM until his retirement in 2022. During this time, he is gratified to have created and overseen the most popular program on the station, which played old-school R&B and blues tracks. Outside of his primary endeavors during this time, Mr. Carrigan worked as a mobile DJ throughout the 1990s and 2000s, and he previously held the position of first-line supervisor for DuPont between 1973 and 1993. Prior to that role, he honorably served in the United States Army, during which time he earned a Purple Heart. Reflecting on the full course of his career, Mr. Carrigan credits much of his success to his passion for music. Looking toward the future, he aspires to enjoy the fruits of his labor. YANCY L.
