Armando is an expert in design consultation who has enjoyed success in the building trades since 1956. He began his career at the age of 14 when he started working summers in construction. He learned fundamental skills from his brother, another construction industry professional, and continued to develop his career with an area company, which helped pay for his education. Mr. Armando holds a Bachelor of Science in advanced education with specialties in biochemistry, mathematics, physics, and geology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Expanding on his academic achievements and decades of practical knowledge, Mr. Armando became president of Tectonics Inc. in 1985. He remained in this role until 2012 while also working as a senior project manager with companies such as REMI Companies, RCG Group, H.R. Beebe Construction Services and Pyramid Management Group. In 2018, he stepped down from his position, becoming vice president of construction at Tectonic Systems LLC. Mr. Armando considers one of his most significant accomplishments to be guiding the company’s transition from tilt wall to precast concrete residential construction, citing the success of a $50 million project in Hoboken, New Jersey, the first of its kind in the state. As the designer of a range of precast products, he is currently seeking venture capital backing for a modular precast concrete seawall system for storm protection of shoreline properties. Looking to the future, Mr. Armando has no plans to slow down in his career. Committed to remaining on the cutting edge of building technologies, he hopes to be remembered as a source of progressive information.
