Mr. Burghard is particularly proud of his production contributions to various spin-offs of the popular “NCIS” television show, including “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: Sydney.” Mr. Burghard originally enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1977, received a commission, and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He notably operated as a special agent of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) between 1984 and 2009. Additionally, he was deployed several times to Iraq as a Marine, where he was wounded during his last tour of duty. His recovery and career accomplishments became the subject of a documentary film, which won a Telly Award and earned a nomination for a PRISM Award from the Entertainment Industries Council. Following his military retirement in 2007, Mr. Burghard returned to the NCIS for two years. During this time, writers for “NCIS: Los Angeles” requested his assistance in demonstrating proper handgun usage and safety for the show’s actors. In light of his expertise in law enforcement, firearms, forensics and military affairs, he was later asked to serve as a technical advisor for the show, a role he maintained from 2012 to 2023. In the closing episodes of the series, CBS elevated Mr. Burghard to the position of associate producer. Reflecting upon his career, Mr. Burghard attributes his success to the idea that failure is not an option. Having begun as a contractor in the entertainment industry, he strived onward until he was able to form his own corporation. Likewise, in light of his military service, he is gratified to have always preserved the lives and health of his fellow Marines and sailors under his command. Looking toward the future, he aspires to obtain a higher position in film production or serve in a consultative role. Hailing from a multifaceted career path, Alan G.
