134 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine BUSINESS SERVICES, CONSULTING AND HUMAN RESOURCES After briefly returning to consultation work at Geosyntec Consultants in 2017, Ms. Deem joined Global Fuel LLC as a fuel broker until 2020. With disruptions in the fuel market at that time, she chose to return to environmental specialist work at McKnight & Associates, where she provided environmental permitting support for the rural Alaska communities they serve. Among her most cherished accomplishments, Ms. Deem is gratified to have made significant improvements in the sector of fuel facilities management, in addition to the support she provided to the airlines. Through her efforts, she was able to assist in making critical decisions that left various airlines in stronger positions by the time she departed from Global Fuel in 2020. In accounting for her success, Ms. Deem credits the influence of her two sons, both of whom serve as her driving force and a testament to the need for positive role models. Looking ahead, she hopes to greet the next chapter in her career journey. Specializing in environmental compliance, Amber Revae Deem leverages over 20 years of experience in Alaska. Proud to have distinguished herself in a male-dominated field, she credits much of her success to her persistence and determination, as well as her sense of self-worth instilled in her by her mother. Initially studying civil engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, Ms. Deem earned a bachelor’s degree in 1998, after which she attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she achieved a master’s degree in environmental engineering. Her first job in Anchorage was with Ecology and Environment Inc., a consulting firm that helped fuel markets manage contaminated sites. Given the opportunity to become a representative for a responsible party, Ms. Deem subsequently joined Aircraft Services International, where she demonstrated proficiency in environmental management for the airlines’ fueling systems. Leading and managing environmental permitting for expansions and upgrades during her tenure, she also realized how unique and delicate the Alaska supply chain logistics are for fuel delivery. Thus, she analyzed and prepared the airlines for upcoming changes. AMBER REVAE DEEM ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST Anchorage, AK
