Stock has maintained a standard of excellence as a land surveyor and architectural drafter. Naturally analytical and drawn to work with a focus on precision and accuracy, he earned an associate degree in architectural drafting and CAD technology at Triangle Tech Community College in 1992. After graduation, Mr. Stock worked full-time for an ice cream manufacturer and in temporary drafting positions while submitting resumes, and in 1997, he was hired as a computer-aided drafter by Turning Point Surveying, launching an 18-year career with the company. Mr. Stock’s initial role was explicitly designed with room to grow. After eight years as a drafter, he became an office manager for National Survey Specialists, where he would continue to develop his industry knowledge and leadership abilities until 2008. That year, Mr. Stock returned to Turning Point Surveying as a project manager and licensed professional land surveyor after passing the notoriously challenging industry-standard licensure exam. He remained in his role until 2018, departing to work with some of the top surveying firms in the Southeastern United States, including Taylore Wiseman & Taylor, Boundary Zone, the Wooten Company and Commercial Site Design. Since 2022, Mr. Stock has made his professional home at Sambatek Inc. as a professional land surveyor and survey manager for North Carolina. Among other responsibilities, he oversees all departmental functions, schedules surveys and field crews, and reviews title documentation and collected field data. Reflecting on his long-term success, he credits his accomplishments to his commitment to integrity and leading by example. Mr. Stock emphasizes the value of knowledge and remaining open to learning, and he hopes to encourage others to pursue careers in surveying.
