Warriner has served as the chief executive officer of Walking Spirit since 2008, through which he also serves as a consultant and inspirational speaker. After sustaining burn injuries in a car accident in 2005, he acquired bilateral leg amputations above each knee. This experience, though traumatic, introduced him to the disability community, and he has since leveraged his experience to serve as an inspirational figure for others. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided outreach services focused on promoting both free independent living and Medicaid waiver services for individuals with disabilities. Mr. Warriner previously thrived in the hospitality industry for 10 years until the 2008 economic recession. When his position dissolved, he utilized the opportunity to focus on disability advocacy on a fulltime basis. For his success, he was honored with the 2010 Steven J. Sharp Public Service Award from the American Association for Justice, among many other accolades. Currently, Mr. Warriner provides accessible diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging consultations through a disability lens for various businesses.
