Dr. Chun is a fellow of the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators through the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. Likewise, she is a national faculty member of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. She also serves on the board of trustees and the board of governors of the American Academy of Osteopathy and the board of directors of the Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons of California. She is also an examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and has served as a California delegate to the American Osteopathic Association's Annual House of Delegates business meeting since 2020. In light of her achievements, Dr. Chun attributes her success to her passion, motivation, and the guidance of her mentors. Leveraging over two decades of experience, Dr. Lisa R. Chun is a proven expert in the field of osteopathic medical education. Specializing in osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal and osteopathic manipulative medicine, she has excelled as an associate dean of osteopathic clinical education and simulation at California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2019. She became a full professor at the college in 2022. After achieving a DO in 1991 at the New York Institute of Technology’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Chun completed an internship and medical specialty residency in osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal and osteopathic manipulative medicine in 1994 at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. She then began managing her own practice. In 2010, she entered academic medicine full-time, working with numerous institutions, including the A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Chun obtained a master’s degree in medical education leadership at the University of New England. She also holds certification as a physician executive (CPE) through the American LISA R.
