189 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition EDUCATION Leveraging several decades of valuable expertise in music education administration, Dr. Jeff S. Dailey has earned acclaim as the founder of Collectio Musicorum Inc., an ensemble musical group that specializes in performing rich, historically resonant music composed prior to 1750. In his capacity as the artistic director of the group, he is responsible for musical selection, overseeing rehearsals and preparing audience presentations. Among his most dearly held achievements, he is particularly proud to have organized several outreach programs that aim toward educating and attracting individuals who may not have the means to attend performances. Moreover, unlike other shows, where performing members read the program during the performance, Dr. Dailey explains the details before each is played, thus allowing the performers to fully immerse themselves in the performance without distraction. Dr. Daily previously served as the director of the department of fine and performing arts for the Deer Park School District in Suffolk County, New York, from 2001 until 2015. His excellent performance in this role has continued to reverberate into the future, as the district has been hailed by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation as the “Best Community for Music Education” for more than 10 years, many of which were under his administration. In addition, Dr. Dailey has served as president of the Greater New York Chapter of the American Musicological Society since 2008. Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Dr. Dailey earned a bachelor’s degree from Wagner College in 1980, and he later received a PhD in musicology and theatre history at New York University in 2002. Additionally, he has received several graduate degrees in musicology, religious leadership, and sacred theology. He is also an ordained pastor. Dr. Dailey's success can be attributed to his awareness and interest in the interdisciplinary approach that connects music and other arts, such as literature. In addition to his strong musicianship, he also credits his experience as a music educator and administrator for helping him to complete various projects.
