In subsequent decades, she would attain a second Master of Arts in educational administration and curriculum development at the college in 2003. To remain aware of developments in the field, she has maintained her affiliation with organizations such as the New Jersey Education Association, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. Reflecting on her successes, Ms. MacKenzie remains grateful for the love and support of her family and colleagues, as well as her own sense of resilience, compassion and love for learning. She has also drawn heavily from the inspiration of her husband, who is a teacher in his own right. Looking toward the future, Ms. MacKenzie aspires to continue imparting the importance of education to youth and their families. A passionate advocate for excellence in education, Diana Valerie MacKenzie has distinguished herself across more than 45 years in the field. Since 2016, she has served as the director of curriculum and instruction at the Sung Star Academy & Learning Center, a preschool in Toms River, New Jersey. In this capacity, through which she is responsible for accommodating 150 preschool students, Ms. MacKenzie manages curriculum development, transitions students and their families to a public school environment, and fosters the professional growth of her colleagues. Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. MacKenzie worked for over a decade in a similar capacity at the Ocean Township School District, where she had previously worked as a teacher for over 25 years and then as the building Principal of the Waretown Elementary School for 11 years, which had over 330 students and 100 staff members. During this time, she witnessed vast growth in the local community, as well as the adoption of various technologies in the field of education. In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. MacKenzie was notably lauded by the Ocean Township School District as their Teacher of the Year in 1992.
