Since 2022, he has also served as an educational consultant for One2One College Consulting. Throughout his career, Dr. Mayers has worked to combat social and economic inequality in the classroom, pioneering online teacher training courses and the first Apple adult education program available on the East Coast. In the coming years, he hopes to continue his efforts by creating an educational think tank focused on artificial intelligence, the digital divide, and helping overcome barriers to emerging technologies for historically underserved communities. Dr. Kenneth Stanley Mayers is a senior adjunct professor and educational consultant who has dedicated his career to addressing social change and access inequality in education. Inspired by his father, a professor and public servant, Dr. Mayers earned a BA at The Pennsylvania State University and intended to apply for medical school before pivoting, believing that the most significant challenges facing society were structural. After studying internationally in France and Tunisia, he achieved a PhD in comparative literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Mayers began teaching for Bergen County Technical Schools in 1994 and ended his K-12 career in 2023 as a teacher for the Bergen County Academies, a magnet high school in Hackensack, New Jersey. While at the secondary level, he actively developed K-12 and adult outreach programs and worked with Amnesty International to develop a 21st century human rights curriculum.
