39 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE As a certified health and safety technician, Arthur Mosqueda Jr. has dedicated his career to ensuring the security and wellness of professionals working in construction sites, warehouse environments and military bases. He began his journey in the early 1980s, working as a construction laborer and union pipefitter and gaining recognition for his easy rapport with others and passion for creating a safe work environment. Mr. Mosqueda holds more than 10 specialized health and safety credentials, including OSHA 500 and several hazmat handling certifications. In 2013, Mr. Mosqueda joined Smart Safety Group after spending eight years as a site safety and health officer for RMP Safety Services. Throughout his time with Smart Safety Group, he has worked on major projects for private-sector clients such as Gerdau Steel for the Wilshire Grand Hotel. Likewise, he has supported staff safety at the Military infrastructure projects such as Naval Support Activity Monterey Boiler replacement project and the Fort Hunter Liggett training exercise warehouse. Mr. Mosqueda previously specialized in Army Corps engineering and naval projects, and he considers his military work to have been one of the greatest honors and highlights of his career. In recognition of his contributions to a boiler replacement initiative and other contracts for the Navy, he received a Five Star Safety Award and a Command Coin for RMP safety. Furthermore, he is grateful to have spent a large portion of his career giving back to service members. As a leader in occupational health and safety, Mr. Mosqueda has also brought his expertise to large federal projects in Puerto Rico. These include the Margarita Canal and the Portugues River Dam. At the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow, he was instrumental in creating a CMU wall bracing plan when one became necessary mid-construction. He remains passionate about creating opportunities for the next generation of safety professionals, and he emphasizes the value of practical knowledge, self-study and pursuing specialized certifications. In the coming years, Mr. Mosqueda looks forward to continuing to build safe workplace environments and hopes to explore consulting and expert witness work. ARTHUR MOSQUEDA JR.
