43 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Eddie Guy Ouellette leverages more than four decades of experience as the owner of T & O Designers Inc. Bearing a particular expertise in industrial design and construction, he is responsible for the daily operations of his studio in Birmingham, Alabama, where he provides oversight for various projects and company finances. Additionally, Mr. Ouellette serves as the chief point of contact for clients, for whom he disseminates their vision and ensures the accuracy of finished projects. The first in his family to pursue a career in architecture, Mr. Ouellette studied at the University of Notre Dame, from which he received his undergraduate degree in 1981. Following this accomplishment, he subsequently found success at Johnson Romanowitz Architects, after which he moved on to Gray Construction and, ultimately, his own firm in 1994. Since then, he has played an instrumental role in the design and construction of a clock tower for the University of Louisville and helped design buildings for Mercedes Benz, Mars Chocolate, Michelin Tire and Amazon. Since embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Ouellette has maintained his affiliation with such organizations as the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the American Institute of Architects. Similarly dedicated to civic advocacy, he regularly contributes to the charitable endeavors of Habitat for Humanity and serves as a board member for the Catholic Diocese in Lexington, Kentucky. Accounting for his achievements, Mr. Ouellette is proud of his work consolidating three facilities owned by the Hughes Aircraft Company into one Kentucky-based location. He is also gratified to have won such accolades as the Project of the Year award from the General Contractors Association. In light of his success, Mr. Ouellette credits his passion for the craft of architecture, as well as the joy he derives from serving as a mentor to younger professionals. Looking toward the future, he aspires to find a worthy successor at T & O Designers and eventually commence his retirement.
