53 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Kacie E. Stigliano is an award-winning lighting designer, educator and sales representative who has helped create innovative architectural lighting solutions for more than 15 years. She entered the field via an internship with Hirsch Bedner Associates and earned a Bachelor of Science in interior design at Kansas State University the following year. Additionally, she achieved a Master of Fine Arts in lighting design from The New School at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in 2010. By 2011, Ms. Stigliano was working as a lighting designer with SBLD Studio and freelancing for L’Observatoire International, and in 2013 she began to diversify her professional skills by concurrently working with Specification Lighting Sales as a representative. Her design work earned her many accolades, including a 2014 IESNYC Emerging Professional Award, and she continued to excel in the business sector of the industry, rising to become the director of sales for Specification Lighting Sales in 2019. She left the company in 2022 and took on a position as the chief operating officer of Scout Lighting while also pursuing consulting work in lighting industry project management. Currently, Ms. Stigliano is a business development representative for illuminico, where she specializes in procurement and supply chain management for architectural lighting projects, drawing on her project management background to streamline the design and implementation process. She proudly returned to the Parsons School of Design as a parttime faculty member in 2023 and looks forward to using her dual role as an educator and industry leader to drive change and increase transparency and accountability in her field. As an emerging leader, Ms. Stigliano has been featured in industry publications and is an active volunteer for the International Association of Lighting Designers and Women in Lighting + Design. She credits her success to the support of her family and professional network, and she remains excited about the potential for change, growth and innovation in lighting as her career continues to evolve.
