541 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition HEALTH AND WELLNESS Hailing from over 15 years of experience, Dr. Rony Rivera Cruz has found success in his role as an anesthesiologist at TeamHealth. The health network is dedicated to providing physician, hospital management and general staffing services across the United States. Currently affiliated with the Steward Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida, Dr. Rivera Cruz practices cardiac and orthopedic surgery, with his primary patients being high-risk individuals affected by obstetric and neurological conditions. Having worked for TeamHealth since 2017, Dr. Rivera Cruz previously served in academia for several years before bringing his expertise into direct medical practice. Originally hailing from Puerto Rico, he initially studied medicine at Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic, where he earned an MD, with honors, in 2009. Following this accomplishment, Dr. Rivera Cruz completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2016. He was subsequently accepted for a fellowship in obstetric anesthesia at the Lake Forest School of Medicine, which he participated in between 2016 and 2017. To remain aware of developments in the field, he maintains his affiliation with the Advanced Neuroscience Network, a system of medical professionals and hospitals focused on providing a full continuum of neurological care throughout South Florida. Well-regarded for his accomplishments, Dr. Rivera Cruz was ranked among the Top Anesthesiologists in 2022 and recognized by Top Doctors in 2021. In accounting for his success, he largely credits the influence of his parents and family, who helped him develop the ethical fortitude and adaptability he brings into medical practice today.
