She has also helped in various fundraising events with Safe Horizons since 2018, in addition to volunteering with the Organization for International Development, Inc., since 1994. To commemorate her achievements, Dr. Sam was recently honored as a Top Female Physician in 2021, and she was also named a Top Gastroenterologist in 2020 and 2021. As such, in accounting for her achievements, she is particularly proud to have overcome many challenges during her time in the field. Looking ahead, Dr. Sam hopes to continue serving others as a medical professional for many more years. of gastrointestinal motility from 2012 to 2017. Initially attending New York University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She subsequently continued her studies at Tufts University, where she achieved both a Master of Public Health and an MD. Following her collegiate studies, Dr. Sam completed her residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. She would later return to New York University to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology.
