487 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition HEALTH AND WELLNESS Well-regarded for his accomplishments in this role, Mr. Bycroft is proud to have presided over a period of significant growth, which has encompassed the employment of 50 to 60 additional staff members and a $19 million, 40,000-square-foot expansion of the therapy department. Moreover, his leadership has been integral to the hospital’s recognition as one of the most outstanding facilities in the region. Prior to his work at Humboldt County Memorial, Mr. Bycroft held similar positions of leadership at West River Health Services, the Shenandoah Medical Center, and the Holy Family Medical Center in Illinois. He also served as the director of education for a local hospital in Illinois for a period of four years. Before his pivot toward health care leadership, Mr. Bycroft worked as a trauma nurse in various emergency room and clinical settings. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Mr. Bycroft went on to attain a master’s degree in business administration at Tulane University in 2007. Following this accomplishment, he completed his education at Clarkson College, from which he received a Master of Health Administration in 2014. Mr. Bycroft attributes much of his success to the guidance of the outstanding mentors and executives he has worked with. To wit, their tutelage was integral in cementing his style of leadership and management, as well as leading him toward building an effective professional network. For his achievements, he was hailed as an Outstanding Nurse Executive by the Iowa Organization for Nurse Leadership in 2019, and he received an Outstanding Leadership Award from the Health 2.0 Conference of 2023. In the coming years, Mr. Bycroft aims to continue staunchly leading Humboldt County Memorial into the future. Well-versed in nursing leadership, Victor Bycroft has distinguished himself as the chief nursing officer at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital since 2014. Reporting to the chief executive of the facility, he provides direct oversight for both the nursing department and its ancillary departments, including the laboratory, radiology, therapy, cardiopulmonary, social work and infection control, among others.
